   A Certified Chef de Cuisine by the American Culinary Federation, Chef Sigfredo Gonzalez has over 30 years of Culinary experience at exclusive hotels and resorts.  

    Chef Sigfredo is winner of numerous medals in the American Culinary Federation accredited culinary competitions and has been involved with hotel openings throughout Puerto Rico, Mexico, Florida and North Carolina.   

    Chef Sigfredo has worked in Puerto Rico at  El San Juan Hotel & Casino,  Ponce Hilton Golf & Casino Resort, San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino,  and in Fort Lauderdale at Marriott Harbour Beach, Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa and Fort Lauderdale Grande Hotel & Yacht Club.  

    In 2005, he opened Borinqueya Restaurant, an innovative mix of Puerto Rican and Nuevo Latino Cuisine known for the Puerto Rican mofongo, which is green plantain mashed and seasoned and many other traditional Puerto Rican cuisine.   

    Borinqueya has received many praises for its cuisine and articles have appeared in the Sun Sentinel, El Sentinel and Comida Latina Magazine.  Chef Sigfredo has appeared on NBC Channel 6 South Florida Today and Despierta America morning shows..
